Israel to hold seminar on UN Aid Agencies

ISRAEL TO HOLD SEMINAR ON UN AID AGENCIES

A unique seminar aimed at raising awareness on the work of UN aid agencies around the world as well as on the recruitment procedures for Israelis interested in seeking employment opportunities with the UN will be held at Tel Aviv University.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IsraAID, The Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid and the Hartog School of Government and Policy at Tel Aviv University are organizing a unique seminar aimed at raising awareness on the work of UN aid agencies around the world as well as on the recruitment procedures for Israelis interested in seeking employment opportunities with the UN.

The seminar will be held at Tel Aviv University on May 3rd, 2007 as part of a series of educational and awareness events for the year 2007 spearheaded by the Foreign Ministry and IsraAID.

The conference will host UN representatives from five agencies including UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UN Development Program (UNDP), World Food Program (WFP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA).

The participants will talk of their experiences in developing countries and explain how Israelis can get involved with these agencies.

The seminar will take place on Thursday, May 3rd at the Faculty of Social Science, Tel Aviv University between 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
