ZAKA, a humanitarian rescue and evacuation organization, is planning to set up an international organization of Jewish volunteers to provide help in emergencies and disaster areas around the world. ZAKA will offer courses in first aid, emergency medicine, rescue and evacuation for Jewish communities overseas. ZAKA director Yehuda Meshi-Zahav said the new organization will serve as Israel and the Jewish nation's international task force, "not only in disasters where the victims are Jewish." (Amos Harel)
