Congolese doctors leave Israel to Goma's war torn area following extensive training

For Immediate Release: Nov. 16, 2008 by IsraAID (www.israaid.org.il)

The Israeli based Moriah Africa/Israel (an IsraAID member) is an international non-profit organization working in Africa, primarily in the Great Lakes region.

The Israeli group is sending back two local doctors from Eastern Congo this week (Nov. 23, 2008) after an extensive training program in Poriya & Rambam hospitals in northern Israel.

Both Congolese doctors have been in Israel for the past 2 month working along side their Israeli colleagues while improving and expanding their knowledge in their respective professions.

Both Dr. Rogatien Mwanjalulu a Gynecology/Obstetrics and Dr. Albin Serugendo an internal medicine doctor are positioned in the Heal Africa facility in Goma city in Eastern Congo and immediately upon their return will begin treating patients affected by the current conflict.

Moriah Africa/Israel focuses and specializes in training and building organizational and institutional capacity. This has meant building relationships on all levels, from government to the private sector. This has also meant facilitating business, medical, agricultural and other relationships between Great Lakes entities and Israel.
